Barry Johnson – Executive Biography

Barry Johnson was born in Texas, grew up in Memphis, TN, attended Ole Miss and now resides in Santa Barbara, California, where he is the devoted father of two energetic sons, Adam and Asher Johnson.

Barry recieved his undergraduate degree from Ole Miss, in Business Finance/Economics.  After moving to Santa Barbara in 1995, he pursued postgraduate studies at the American Academy of Sports Medicine in Chicago.  With an emphasis on Physical Medicine and Rehabilitative Modalities, a  foundation was set for working with patients suffering from stroke, head trauma and neurologcal difficiencies. 

Seeking to continue his education, Barry completed advanced studies at Harvard Business School’s Extension Program in 2002. Concurently, he became the founder and CEO of Progressive Motion, a patient care company specializing in rehabilitative therapies, pain management modalities, and surgical implant interventions.  Progressive Motion eventualy grew and expanded into multiple spin-off entities within the medical industry.  His focus became growing companies specializing in the distribution and patient care applications of regenerative medicine, tisse bank license, orthopedic surgical implants, electrotherapuetic modalities and biologis.  All under the guidelines of his National Provider certification, JCHO Accreditation and CMS program participation.  

His industry networking and business growth led to unexpected opportunities in the film industry as an actor and subsquent executive producer on feature films, television series, commercials, and historical documentaries—including roles in Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, Rescue Me, and western action films. 

Barry currently serves as President of Channel Holdings, LLC, a consulting firm that advises physicians on government compliance, corporate structuring, and healthcare-related investment opportunities.  Beyond his professional pursuits, he strongly supports Doctors without Borders and has recently become a member of AHLA (American Healthcare Law Association).  Barry dedicates most of his free time to raising his two sons, riding motocross, making music, and helping with animal rescue foundations throughout Southern California.

In addition to her responsibilities as President of Commercial BioConsulting, Ginger leads core assessment and strategic consulting engagements, with special emphasis on CNS-related categories.

Previously, Ginger was the Director of Life Science Research at Chase Capital Partners (now CCMP Capital), a multi-billion-dollar global private equity and venture capital firm, where her research and investment activities focused on high-growth opportunities in new and emerging areas within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. As Associate Director of the Center for Biotechnology at Northwestern University, Ginger helped to develop an innovative graduate program that combines the science and business of biotechnology. Ginger spent eight years in basic and applied scientific research, primarily in the field of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative diseases, at the National Institute of Mental Health and a start-up biotechnology company. Ginger has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and three issued patents.

Ginger earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from University of Tennessee, a Doctorate in Molecular Biology from George Washington University in Washington, DC, and has completed graduate studies at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
